Okay, so I’m a fashion blogger. But that doesn't mean my life revolves around fashion only. I have other interests, too, which, in my opinion, makes me a well-rounded individual. Awesome designing wows me. And just like a lot of people, I read books and listen to music. That said, here are three awesome sites I recently chanced upon in my search for things not related to fashion:
Some people think logos are overrated, that Arial Black for a logo works just as effectively as a fancy one. Let’s imagine for a second every company on the planet thinks the same thing and bombards the market with Arial Black logos of all shapes and sizes. No more such thing as originality, as relevance, as standing out in a consumer’s psyche.

Like a person fed with peanut butter sandwich for breakfast everyday for three whole months, a normal human being would probably run in the opposite direction whenever he comes in close contact with a logo created with Arial Black. Well, at least I would, to be honest. And for a business, that doesn’t in any way bode well.
Logaster.com is an online designing and logo-making service that caters to individuals and SMEs (small and medium enterprises). Regardless of a user’s designing experience, Logaster allows you to create a professional-looking logo in a matter of minutes. Satisfaction is guaranteed because only when you’re completely happy with your design are you given the choice to avail of extended services like business cards, letterheads, fax covers, envelopes and others for just about $4.99 a month.
Yes, a logo that stands out in the crowd doesn’t have to be so expensive you would have to resort to using Arial Black. (But believe it or not, I have nothing against Arial Black per se.)
2. PrintLuna.com
Reading is one of several things that will never go out of style. Whether it’s a novel, a photo book or an art portfolio, a book will always be a book – a fountain of knowledge, a source of inspiration, a channel for creativity.
And for those who aspire to create and design their own books, PrintLuna is an online service aimed at assisting creative minds in coming up with quality books, especially in terms of craftsmanship. At PrintLuna, there is no specific number of books to purchase, and costs start at just about $7.70. Books are delivered straight to your doorstep, or if intended as gift for a loved one, to the address you specify. If you want to share your book to the rest of the world, PrintLuna can also help sell your book at no additional charge.
3. MP3Mixx.com
They say music is food for the soul, and different people have different tastes in music. Just goes to show how unique every individual is. And banking on that uniqueness, MP3Mixx.com is an online music store with an impressive library of MP3 music available for download, from Shakira to Lady Gaga, from Green Day to Kings of Leon. MP3Mixx also has classics from older artists like Miles Davis and John Coltrane.
Now here’s the best part: MP3Mixx.com is a MusicLine Limited affiliate, so you know every track you download and pay for is legal. Plus, the average track price is only $0.15 per track.

ReplyDeleteWell, what you've said is true that even though you're a fashion blogger it doesn't mean that you wouldn't go out of niche and try to look for something other than fashion trends. Also most inspirations are not always on mainstream but on peripherals.
